Last Friday (my birthday), I wake up with the full blown flu. I call in sick. Spend the entire weekend feeling pretty horrible. Go into work on Monday still pretty sick and they believe me (I can't really fault them because I was only thinking they weren't going to believe me). I leave early and call in sick again today. They believe me. WOO.

So now I'm watching The Thing (2011), followed by The Thing (1982), while under an electric blanket, surfing reddit.

This happend to me a lot in high school, I had actually passed out at school the day I got in the halo reach beta, was pretty sick had some dumb virus the doctors couldn't tell me what it was but I got to stay home all week n play it before everybody else cus I got an early code. My grandfather, who suffered from chronic COPD (i had no idea how severe it really was at that age), had a heart attack. He was put into a medically induced coma when he got to the hospital. He couldn't support his own life. When I got there I could do nothing but hold his hand and cry; cry because he couldn't grip my hand back.

He wasn't conscious.

He wasn't really there.

Where ever he was, he was happy.

He had the faintest smile for the next few days.

The funeral was the most jolting, mind-numbing experience I've ever had. At the age of 10, death was in the forefront of my mind.
