And suddenly he was grabbed from his seaward home and thrust into another moist environment. "This isn't so bad," he thought to himself, "this actually feels kind of good. It's wet, warm, no hair..." That was the last thing he was able to utter as right at that moment, a flood of red viscous discharge entered his every pore and he swelled to the size of a small balloon. How he longed to get back to the pineapple under the sea.

Obvious shop. You should know that some gross hippie people do actually use chunks of sea sponge as reusable tampons though.

Why is that gross? It's economical!

There are some things that should never be reused.

True, like needles -- they deteriorate and can cause harm to the person using it. On the other hand, reusing things (e.g: diapers, cloth feminine pads, sponges, glass bottles, plastic bags, seeds from veggies you eat, old clothing for goodwill, padding from an old mattress for a dog bed or for shipping, et cetera, et cetera) that are easily cleaned and still in good, working shape can save money and reduce unnecessary waste.

I agree with you on everything but diapers and feminine pads. I don't think "easily cleaned" describes those.

Do you not use wash rags? mops? dish sponges? shoes after you accidentally stepped in mud or poo? Have you ever heard of a handkerchief? You just run them under water and then use a cleaning solution. Wasteful, sheltered people... I'll tell ya...

Yes, yes, yes, yes, although I don't step in poo often enough to have that problem. Yes. And I'm not wasteful at all with respect to diapers and tampons, I don't have a child nor a vagina.

reusable

Imagine cleaning that out...oh god.

You just rinse and then soak them for 10 minutes with one of the following: tea tree oil, apple cider vinegar, baking soda, sea salt, colloidal silver, or hydrogen peroxide.
It works exactly like a tampon, so it's not as if there will be menstrual fluids spilling everywhere.
Menstruation itself is not scary, but I suppose everyone has their own boundaries and limits. Sponges can be used as contraceptives alongside a form of spermicide. Personally, I am extra horny and easily orgasm during my period. I just do it in the shower :)
