I know almost nothing about free climbing, so sorry if this is a stupid question, but once he gets to the top, how does he get down? Does he have to climb all the way down after such an exhausting climb up? Or does his camera guy bring rappel ropes or something?

depends on the climb. half dome has trails going down the back...downclimbs suck a lot, so i'd imagine he tries to avoid it. Rappelling is a possibility but hard to get your gear from 50-100 feet above you

I believe on this one, he ran into some incredulous day hikers at the top. So yeah, (relatively) easy walk down.

I'm pretty sure he states somewhere that at this point in the climb he was pretty freaked out, but he was able to calm himself and keep going. Pretty ridiculous.
