Doesn't the Clan Gordon tartan have an additional yellow stripe? I know it's based on Black Watch, and therefore is very similar, but I would be willing to bet that what he is wearing there is simply the Black Watch tartan, and not your Clan Gordon tartan.

Funny story; clan tartans were invented by the textiles industries to make money off young, rich men (read:19th century hipsters) in ~1830.

Bruce, as pictured, is wearing Black Watch. This tartan is significantly older than many official clan tartans, being from 1739.

So I'll say it. Campbells have been wearing clan tartan since before they were cool.

There's a whole lot of difference between Tartan and Clan Tartans. Tartans have been worn since at least the 3rd century in scotland. Codified clan tartans became popular in the early 19th century.

That indeed is the Clan McLeod Sword from Highlander, the one he had before he went all Samurai Ivory Handle swinging, My wife collects swords and she has the same one hanging on the wall, along with Frostmorne, An Orc sword and the Ring Wraith sword from LOTR. She also owns the Samurai sword replica from Kill Bill (the one Uma Thurman used)

Probably. Usually sword scabbards will have what's called a drag/shoe on their bottom tip so that they stay relatively unscathed from this sort of thing.

I will assume that the sword he is holding is supposed to be a claymore. A lot of times the replica claymore swords will not ship with a scabbard, and that could be the case here. If it did come with one, I have no idea why he doesn't have the scabbard for it on. Keep in mind that the back scabbard as we know it is a modern invention. Also, if you see a back scabbard that is made in a fashion different from that, for example a full scabbard on your back will be near impossible to pull a long sword out of - arms just aren't that long.

Its actually Edinburgh castle, you can tell because of the two statues either side of the gate, one is of William Wallace the other is Robert the Bruce (both depicted in the movie Braveheart). I live just half an hour from Edinburgh so I'm quite familiar with it. You weren't far off with Stirling castle though both it and Edinburgh are very, very similar in structure.

What you've heard probably refers specifically to the Massacre of Glencoe, or the Jacobite Uprisings in general, in which Clan Campbell fought for the British, against other Scottish clans.

um... Are male models also manly? I do love Campbell's work... but when I now attempt (for the first time ever) to conjour up images of someone manly, I think... idk... carpenter... firefighter... soldier... pioneer... is it just me?
