Man I've thought about this most of my life and I still do. There were times where I was convinced of this. It's a better outcome than heaven/hell.

"Oh we are gods, oh weee are gods, we are gods, we are as go-o-o-ods..."

Richard Bach imagines this sort of reality in his book Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah.

Yeah, I ate a quarter once, became convinced I was god and spent the rest of the day trying to remake the universe as I saw it. Turns out, I just got naked and splashed around in the sound.

This is beautiful and I love it.

We are all divine beings. We are all human. Within every moment, everything exists all at once. We are matter knowing itself; we're really systems analysts. We're here to make new connections, implore that which always was and is and will, and to manipulate those things to our own devices. We are gods of our minds, gods of our universes, and still wholly mortal.

Everything is divine, and lives together in one moment, one glorious outburst of creation. Mortality is our one constraint. Let's work on defeating it.

I actually talked about this last night while drunk with a group of friends.

Asked who was an athiest, most said yes. Told them that lately on reddit the primary argument against not believing in god was that they'd never heard him speak to him/her.

Now I wouldn't go so far as to say that god spoke to me, but there was a moment in my life where i heard a voice speak to me in my mind other than my own...

It happened on the end of a 3 week hitch-hiking-/back-packing trip through mexico. I had taken a bible w/ me and read it daily. I believed it would protect me, though i spoke fluent spanish and looked white (most everyone i encountered was taken aback by my appearance).

anyway, i'm leaning on the vestibule of a train thats takin me back to the states. goin thru the forest, full moon. I'm lookin it at, reflectin and stuff, not really thinking about anything in particular. I sigh, and in a passive, not thinking way, i say, "oh, god."

and I hear someone say, "Yes my son." It didn't have question intonation, it just said it.

My reaction is what you would expect. I stepped back, was scared a lil...waited....nothing. Asked was that you god? no response. none ever came after that.

my friends said that it could've been a bible-conditioned brain-fart, a reflexive act. I agreed, saying that anyone can believe in anything, and it would exist, but only within the believer; God, gods, FSM, anything as long as you believed in it enough...

when you apply simple logic to this idea, it makes complete sense. take the golden gate bridge. that cam from someones brain, it was just a thought, an idea. and there it is in physical form. we are GODS. I felt the universe or god or whatever it was embrace me, let me know i belonged here, i FELT it. the single most spiritual thing to ever happen to me.

What if reincarnation is non-chronological...

...and we're all one divine being living out the human experience?

Yuck. Try LSD instead. It's far more effective, cheaper, and better for your body.
