While I agree they should've exercised more precaution on the tiger's cage, and I don't think the boy should've died for it, I am not-so-secretly not-upset that the tiger got his ass.

It's a team looking to kill or relocate a Tiger that's been terrorizing a nearby village. The rider lost a finger and was knocked off the Elephant. The Elephant pinned the Tiger down with its foot until the rider could get to safety. I'll post a link to the story if I can find it, its pretty amazing.

Haha, yeah, what a moron. I would've dropped the sticks, stood up on the elephant's back and leapt over the tiger into the brush, grabbed its tail, and yanked it back down onto the ground. That's when the sticks come in. I snatch the two of them up before the tiger can recover from its fall, jam them down into its hanging mouth to trigger a gag reflex and use the added room to wedge the sticks between his upper and lower jaw and render his teeth useless.

He has elephant steering sticks. They are shaped like icepicks, they poke the elephant behind the ear to make it turn. Sounds kind of cruel, but they don't really jab the elephants with them, they're well trained.
