I've been to Buchenwald, which is in Germany and there's no way this is even legal in Germany.

I have no idea what laws, if any Poland has for this type of thing, but there's no way this is sold at Auschwitz, I would bet a paycheck on that. These places are somber memorials. Most of the things in the "gift shop" are free. With the exception of very detailed books, which cost money. But there's no trinket shop.

It's fucked up, after visiting a concentration camp, this kind of shit is beyond offensive.

When I went to Holocaust museum in DC I got a replica passport of a little Jewish girl to hold on to while I looked at everything. I know I didn't throw it away, but I haven't seen it in years. I'll never forget that museum visit.

I've been to Auschwitz. They do not sell these. Auschwitz is divided into 3 camps. 1 is like a museum. 2 looks like how you would think a concentration camp would look, but it is very bombed, and they do not let people go to 3... or it doesn't exist anymore or something... I can't exactly remember.

EDIT 2 is not bombed, most of the buildings were taken down after the war. Thanks LeftyGunNut!

Going through stuff in the parents' house as they were moving, I found some old souvenirs from the trips we took. In 1983 we went to Poland to visit relatives and we also toured Auschwitz. One of the things we bought from the ,er, giftshop were a bunch of photocards. Well, almost postcards as they're the same shape and size as postcards, just without a square for a stamp on the back. I realized I held the most depressing postcards in the world.
