Beware of trading scammers!

A subreddit for anything related to games (but not sports).

"Related" means that posts must contain gaming-related content in the link/post body, not just a "forced" connection via the title or a caption added to the content.

Posting Rules

  • Posts must be directly gaming-related. Thus, "generic" image macros/memes (where the character itself is not related to gaming) like Scumbag Steve, Good Guy Greg, etc. will be removed. Something that "reminds you of a game", or "looks like something from a game" is also not an appropriate submission; similarly, reaction GIFs are also not appropriate as submissions.

  • Following Reddiquette is encouraged

  • No "general" URL shorteners (bitly, tinyurl, etc). Single-site URL shorteners (such as youtu.be or fav.me) are allowed.

  • No game or product giveaway of any kind

  • NSFW submissions and comments must be labeled

  • Spoilers can be posted using the following formatting:

I was 299/300 monkeys for 6 years (I had scratched the disc and was forced to find another much later in life). I felt incomplete. I felt destroyed on the inside. Where was that last monkey? Why did he taunt me? He was hidden an enclosure. I could watch him the radar, eating bananas and not giving fucks. I had slain every single ridiculous boss, rode boats through electric catfish waters and drove a tank through mechanized monkey territory. All that remained was a single primate sitting in a hidden room.

Then I found him. I broke a statue of a monkey's helmet and that was a hidden door. 6 years. Six.

Grew up playing/collecting Nintendos and have a number of each, but never had a playstation until I bought one at goodwill the other day for 15 bucks (with a badass carrying bag). I was about to look at what games to get... This will undoubtedly be my virgin journey through the cyber world of 90's Sony.

Good choice! Probably the most innovative use of analog sticks. Ape Escape opened doors no one even knew were there.

I had the exact same problem. I remember his name, "Raphael: likes to paint". Could never figure out where to get him. Years later I finally did it too. I hated Raphael and what he did to me for years.

I vaguely remember this monkey. Was it in the castle level? I remember spending HOURS looking for the last monkey I needed there.

No. I feared nothing in the castle. No suit of armor or giant space ship or Monkey Sealed In Box would stop me. I swam around, I scaled, I jumped, I did it all. It was near the final boss in his space fortress. There is a large statue of a monkey head, and hitting a switch would extend his eyeballs to cross a platform. Above it was a normal area with zero indication it could be broken or even accessed. Only through pure frustration and slingshot ammo did I hear it crack and open. Glory.

There is not a game in the world I have ever wanted but never gotten, more than this.

I still play it sometimes, theres "Ape Escape - On The Loose" which was for PSP, but a remake of the first Ape Escape. :D

I remember only having a third party dual shock controller at the time. When I first bought the game, the cashier warned me that I needed a dual shock controller to play the game, and I assured him that I did. Went home and started up the game only to find out that the right stick didn't work properly for the game. I was devastated.

best series ever i have all the series released for the US but didn't get the move spinoff for the ps3

wish i had the Japanese McDonalds exclusive they had. where you had to wash the monkeys pants and return them back
