Sorry, I'm sure it's obvious and I'm completely missing it but I still don't get it... The first one is the equivalent of beating a dead horse, but for the other, it's beating glue? Or is it the guy trying to beat out the last of a resource that has been completely used up (analogous to how some might say Reddit frequently overuses memes/jokes to the point that they aren't funny anymore)?

Reddit is "beating a dead horse" (overusing memes) so much that it isn't even a horse anymore...it's now glue and we're still beating it.

...this isn't as clever as I fist thought. I'm sorry, I'll see myself out.

Lol, I'm so sorry. I didn't realize adhesives were made from horse parts at times. If it's any consolation, I did actually lol when I realized what was going on...One more upvote for your post! :)
