I'm sure this has been posted before.
I keep a copy of this in my atheism folder with the title 'bookends'.

Terribly sorry about that. I've never seen it, but never meant to just do a simple repost. It's very fitting here, but I really wanted was to see if some other redditors would go to r/heavymind and you can find that same photo in there and a lot more images like it, but it isn't a very populated subreddit. I'm sure it can get a big amount of subcribers and with more of them, more images like those. Again sorry about reposting.

Oh I'm not complaining or telling you off or anything, don't worry about it :)

Oh don't worry about reposts, that is the majority of reddit. If it gets upvotes then someone appreciated it.

This really is one of the strongest images I have seen regarding religion and it doesn't use a quote or meme or even any words to make the message clear.

Definitely a repost, but one of my favorites, so have an upvote!

Seen it many times, although it is kind of funny, because a couple of days ago I was looking around for it. Coincidence?! yes.

Nope. God did it.

Reminds me of Doctor Who in A Good Man Goes to War, with the headless monks.

Reminds me of Jeff Goldblum's The Fly... oh god, nobody ever watch that.

Now I wanna go watch it. I haven't seen those creepy eyes outside of a nightmare for years. Maybe watching it as an adult will just be funny. Perfect wake-and-bake idea.

Watching The Fly dead sober will mess you up. Doing it at a [6] is just madness.

Does anyone have the pic of the baby being branded by the doctors?

I'm sorry Reddit, but its not fair to say Christians always force religion on their children. They do what you would if you are/will be a parent: Teach their kids what is right and what they believe, because to them its right. Making that seem bad isn't fair, as this is a large part of a parents job. Your not going to teach your kids about every religion, your going to teach them science (which is a good thing), and if they ask about religion you will probably teach them what you know and your opinions. It is unfortunate that their are crazy Christians out their, but to generalize is just unfair.

[–]WeaponsGradeHumanity 2 points3 points ago

To generalise would be unfair except for the fact that so many Christians are exactly described by the generalisation.

The salient difference here is that an atheist will tell their child all the options and let the child think about it while the theist will teach their child only about their personal religion. Or at least, that's the best approximation to the truth that I can see, not being anywhere near America.

They claim to, but every atheist parent I know does give them the choice, but not before portraying theists as horrible people and idiots.

[–]WeaponsGradeHumanity 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I'm not sure that's an unfair portrayal. I mean, I know that not all theists are horrible idiots but they believe things without reason even when those things are horrific.

[–]peterhobo1 0 points1 point ago

That's a very fair point, but I think its irrelevant to my original post. My point is that its not fair to judge them for teaching their children about Christianity, and you are saying they are naive for believing without asking themselves why they are for their religion when their religion is full of horrible things.

Edit: If that is what you are in fact saying at all, I agree

[–]WeaponsGradeHumanity 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I'm not sure we have any disagreement remaining except that I do think it's fair to judge people for passing on their religion.

You would be correct, and may I say this has probably been the most pleasant debate I have had on the internet where no profanity has been used or use of empty retorts used to due to lack of a strong retort.
