Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

"heavily armoured pork rectums"

I've never really considered pork rectums as a dish, to be honest.

I don't know where that is a staple of the local cuisine.

Relevant

Bourdain’s worst food experience was when he ate warthog anus in Namibia. He says that he wouldn’t eat anything, that he draws the line between what is and isn’t really food. .. but then that he’d never ever want to offend his hosts.. so this is how he got roped into eating the butt hole of a warthog. He had to be on cipro antibiotics for two weeks after that.<

I believe in not offending my hosts, but there is a line I won't cross (unless you're in imminent threat of death from starvation, in which case all bets are basically off).

I have an ironclad defense against just this thing though: I'm sorry guys, I can't do that, my religion won't allow it.

Also, don't forget that your hosts may not be technologically advanced, that doesn't mean they're beyond trolling you. You don't know that they're meeting outside the tent and roll on the ground laughing because they managed to make whitey eat a pig's ass. The noble savage is a charming fiction.

More of a side dish really.

The cheap joke would be China, but in reality these rectums are in your food too. Exactly what do think sausage and spam are made from? Pig rectums are one of the major ingredients of mechanically separated pork. If you've ever had any of those pre-cooked Jimmy Dean pork products you've eaten these. Same deal with chicken rectums, a major ingredient in McNuggets and all other cheap mechanically separated chicken our kids can't get enough of.

I'll hate you forever.

No way is it a "major" ingredient. Think of just how little of the pig's weight is rectum. It's a tiny percent. It would only be a major ingredient if the rest of the pig butchering process was almost 100% efficient and the rectum was all that is let over, which is not the case. Lots of stuff that isn't a sell-able cut of meat is always left over in the butchering process of any animal, and it is combined and ground.

It's likely in ground pork to some extent, though. When you grind any animal meat down fine enough, it's just nondescript protein or fat. I don't feel hypocritical at all when I say I would never eat an intact pork rectum, yet I'm fine eating ground pork.

True, a majority of it is not rectums, but remember that after all of the normal cuts of meat and desirable organs are removed, the remaining protein and fat on the bones is much smaller. So the percentage of rectum in the recovered "meat" is much bigger than it is compared to a whole carcass.

The important part is that they are pre-inverted. Inverting is nothing you want to do yourself.

America is Back! And notice the for export stickers! Can't wait to get my job preparing boneless pig rectums for export. Lets see any country try to out produce America in rectums, not on my watch!
