Its actually a satchel charge and the one they are passing around isn't live...I saw the video of this and there is a second angle where you can see the last guy who has the charge drop it right in front of himself. A interesting exercise to say the least.

I was going to say, no way that's a real live grenade. My pal in the marines said they don't even want you to wait 3 seconds to throw a live grenade because of the chance it could go off sooner rather than later. Plus, and I hate to sound callous, but soldiers are expensive even for the Chinese.

god help us if we ever go to war with them. They will decimate us in hot potato.

I only pray that we can do something crazy, like practice shooting, in a vain attempt to defeat them. But it does seem hopeless with this superior training regime they are putting their soldiers through.

Chinese have no real navy to speak of, and Chinese soldiers have been pretty well hilariously incompetent for the history of the world. Their culture does not breed good fighting men, for better or for worse. I don't see why it would change now.
