I can't facebook.

There, I said it. Facebook used to be a thing you did to register for dorms. It was a contact list for the kids in my classes. Once I registered for school, I got one. And that's the last time I used it. I never saw the point. People put all this goddamned time into taking pictures and putting them on the computer and amassing large groups of friends.

When I want to hang out, I call my friends. A few are photographers but we never take pictures of what we're doing unless we thought to bring the cameras along, at which point we put them up on the website for the other friends to download for posterity. It just seems like a HUGE waste of time when I already work 75-80 hours a week, run, have a relationship, and run a blog about reading books (which i have to read), and take care of myself in general.

How do people have TIME for facebook? I just figured it's popularity was because of the large amounts of unemployed people.

I wouldn't have had time for it when I was a tween between sports, friends and school. I wouldn't have had time for it when I was in high school with sports, boyfriends, friends, band, work, school, and college app shit. I didn't have time for it in college with work, school, and friends and I sure as hell don't have time for it now.

I guess I'm just amazed at what people do with their free time. Playing a game with friends, exploring the world, or pushing yourself physically or mentally? Nope. Re contextualized reality with strangers.

Now that we have the internet it's a lot easier to stay current if you pay attention to what's going on around you. Old people lose touch because they let themselves think that they know everything there is to know about life and they stop learning.
