FireRed and LeafGreen fix a lot of R/B/Y's problems, but they still suffer from poor pacing and a pretty haphazard plot. Also, Charizard, the amazing 5-foot not-actually-a-dragon? I never saw the appeal. I picked Bulbasaur.

I think what most people see in Charizard is that he looks cool and they like him in the tv show (back when the tv show was watchable) I like him cuz not only do i love the fire aspect, but he can learn flying and fighting types.

If not Charizard, then Dragonite!

Charizard couldn't learn any Flying type moves in Red and Blue, and could only learn Fly itself in Yellow. Dragonite has been in every game except R/S/E, and could actually be caught (as Dratini) outside of the Safari Zone in the later games.

I know the accusation of nostalgia gets thrown around too often in these discussions, but I'm sorry, dude, I think that's what's happening here.
