Re-apply. They're just testing your persistence.

I called them up to "inquire about the status of the position." She was nice, didn't say yes or no, she just said they were going to move forward with another round of interviews and they will call me in a few weeks. Typically when a whole new set of candidates is interviewed it means they didn't find what they were looking for.

I'm still trying, though!!

As a recruiter, I can honestly say that persistence can pay off. There have been several occasions where a candidate I passed along didn't get rave reviews, only to get moved forward because they didn't totally bomb and then kept calling. Was the hiring manager head over heels in love with them? No. Did they get and then keep the job? Yes. Once you're in the door you have every opportunity to show that hiring manager up by just getting the work done. Just don't hassle them. If you get someone on the phone, keep it short: you're still very much interested in the position, haven't heard anything, does the person know anything new about where you stand? Call maybe twice a week (and no more than that) until you get a final answer.

EDIT: Also, reposting a position on Craiglist may simply mean they're hiring for multiple openings.

It's such a gutless, douchebag move to string someone along like this. If you don't have the balls to tell someone no, you shouldn't be in charge of finding new hires.

This damn GIF gets posted every day. If someone posts it another time, I will be forced to do the unthinkable: watch Doctor Who. I cannot afford to lose all that time.

Yes, you will.

If my knowledge of reddit is correct, I'll probably be watching by Tuesday evening.

Start in 2005. If you like the new stuff, then go back and watch all the old stuff. Don't give up until you finish watching the first season of 2005. It gets better and better after that.

Now, I'm sure there's a version without that somewhere.

As a hiring manager who just re-posted the same job for the 5th time in two months, I'm sorry.

Good luck man! It is VERY IMPORTANT to network. Having someone to say "I know this guy, he'll do good work" puts you miles ahead of other applicants.

I saw my boss post an ad for my job position the day before I was laid off. That sucked.

Doctor Who. It's when he's saying goodbye to Donna.

I knew the doctor who part, it's just that he gets like this so often I wasn't sure which moment.

Thanks, I'll try to remember.

I upvoted this just because it's the Doctor.

I have been applying to jobs for almost a year now. not one has asked me in for an interview.

they sometims call to let me know thay are no longer considering me, so I know I'm getting the right number out there.

I have no criminal records, am a legal citizen, and am meeting their requirements just fine, but they still pass me up.

And I've been applying to fast food places and still getting rejected.

I'm sorry but if the job was posted on Craigslist, it probably wasn't much of a job anyways.
