Children, such as this young boy in the picture, have very acute senses that enable them to detect the presence of demons. Most scientists believe it's because children are pure of heart.

The boy was naturally reacting to the demonic presence in the newborn and was rightly attempting to either exorcize the demon himself, or alert the parents that a Baptism is in dire need.
