As a guy with (comparatively normal) facial piercings who's been in a few fights, I can tell you that it would be extremely difficult to actually grab onto anything during a fight (nobody has ever managed) and you're better off just punching the shiny things anyway (people have definitely managed).

I've never actually been in a fight, but I've always been worried because I have facial piercings too. I wouldn't want someone ripping my nose ring out.

It'd be right hard to grab your nose ring, what's more likely to happen is if someone punched you in the nose the jewelry would cause more trauma than a regular punch.. I've lost a couple of lip piercings because they blew up after a fight, and I'm lucky they didn't mess up my teeth.

No, that is true. But it significantly diminishes their chances on the job market. Any job that involves a fraction of contact with clients will be harder for them to grasp, and even those in the field you are working in. Not every boss is as open minded as you.

It is true that I am probably prejudice in saying that this person has no job and has this particular viewpoint on life and work. I just had this confirmed by several examples trough my own experience.

No absolutely not. When I say "people like him" I'm not referring to people who like to heavily deform their face. I'm directly referring to people who do exactly that without being concerned what impact this may have on their chances on the job market because of the simple fact they do not want to work. These were the paraphrased words that came out of their mouths.
