While this little guy looks cute, make sure check out how they sounds before you commit to owning one. Fennec foxes scream as if they were the Bee Gees that got turned into god damn banshees.

They scream when they are anrgy.

Maybe the fox is trying to tell the people something.

I don't want to live in a house, let alone a crate.

It looks trapped. It's a wild animal. It may look to you for food or a rub, but it's obviously not a regular dog or cat and seems to have anxiety being in a home. Leave them in wild.

Most fennecs sold as pets have never been in the wild, and are only distantly related to "breeder fennecs" who are wild foxes caught to introduce genetic diversity into the domestic fennec market.

If they escape outside, they will die. If you set them free in the Sahara Desert, they will die. If you give them an outlet for all their energy and a nice big space to run around in, they will be very happy and not die for years. You're being stupid, but only barely.

You can google breeders in your area but you have to check your city codes cause they're considered wild animals so a lot of places don't allow them, and they usually cost at least $1000, yikes!

This and there's also a lot more that goes into raising one than a typical house pet. You'd have to find a vet that is willing and has the know how to work on foxes. You'll probably have to get its scent gland removed as it can be worse or almost as bad as a skunk smell.

Fennec foxes in particular will most likely never calm down as they age, so you're looking at a lot of playtime in the future. They sleep probably 60-70% of the day, and are awake most of the night. They're louder at night and can cause you to lose sleep if you don't have a cage or separate room for them to stay in during the nighttime.

There's other things, but I can't really remember them. It's still a wild animal so keep that in mind; it won't behave the way a house cat or dog might (although some things could be similar).
