To be honest, i thought i saw someone go in the opposite side and tried turning it the opposing direction, causing it to accordion. Thats my guess. I got my head stuck in one of those things and that shits scary! OnO

I fire safety mechanism triggered. As you can guess, rotating doors are awful for exiting crowds en masse. So they close up and go sideways to produce two main paths, rather than a rotating and slow door. Problem is this poor sap happened to be using it at the time.

I'm not sure if it was a drill/test, or if an alarm triggered elsewhere in the building.

revolving doors collapse in emergency situations so people can flood through. something triggered it to collapse. safety glass broke up into safe little beads so nobody gets cut. just makes a loud noise.

it looks like the doors on both sides collapsed inward because of a pressure variance between the inside of the building and the outside.

in this case, Id say a negative pressure variance because the doors were sucked inward instead of flung outward.
