I know it's obviously someone's personal selection (with good research though) but it's odd how that list of 25 are mostly religious and mostly popes. Absolute power does indeed corrupt absolutely.

No, it got rich by getting ~€100 BILLION per year from Germany alone every single year. (And that's only church taxes, NOT additional private donations, etc.)
