That thing is nice, but calling it "The ultimate atheist-Christian resource" is a little over the top, don't you think?

Post it to r/design. They'll tear it apart. You need to redo it in a form like Galileo's Dialouge

I agree, wonderfuldog, the title is misleading.

I actually used this to help shred my religious views, however it does have some flaws... The jesus wants to kill all non christians is also false... luke 19:27

Jesus was telling a story about a king, and the king wanted all his non followers to be killed, nothing to do with followers of jesus.

edit: the reason project contradiction list is awesome looking but does have many wrong contradictions. just by testing the first 5 you realise that 2 are contradictions and 3 are not.

Yeah, except I wish it had left out the Mithra crap. That's so debunked.

There's so much that's wrong here. Let's try this:

Most people think that you need a god to explain the existence of the world.

The thing is, most people don't. Only Fundamentalists and Atheists seem to think that the average Christian's response to these kinds of questions is just to go "God did it" and move on. This idea that people are only clinging to a belief in God to explain scientific phenomena is completely flawed. Most scientifically minded Christians (who yes, do exist, and do just as good science as atheists) don't pull God out to explain everything they don't understand. If they think about him at all in the context of science, it is in the old sense of the word "metaphysics" - something that is beyond physics. Perhaps God was a prime mover that started the Big Bang. Maybe not. Probably we'll never know. This uncertainty doesn't hurt my faith or my curiosity.

Let's see, Epicurus...while I've run into a number of atheists who quote better or worse versions of this to me, they all seem unaware that the problem has a long history in theology; there are a number of 'solutions' and counters, theodicies, etc. devoted to this question. You may not find them satisfying, but what drives me nuts is that some atheists seem to think that I've never even considered this before. Guess what, you weren't the first one to this debate, someone else may have thought of this before you.

And oh my gosh, Jesus wasn't really born on Dec. 25th? I take it all back I'm an atheist now.

A lot of the stuff here is good. It's great if you can get believers (which I grudgingly call myself) to recognize that the bible isn't a perfect font of morality, that great evils have existed and been perpetuated by believers. But please, recognize that real believers aren't always as stupid as the fundamentalists in your rage comics, and you might actually need to bring your "A" game if you want to avoid sounding like an idiot.

As others have said many times before, there are too many inaccuracies here for it to be taken seriously. It's a good start, but if you showed this to any of the fundamentalists I know they'd tear it apart. Even one error calls into question the credibility of the whole thing.

We need a new version of this, with better citations, better formatting, and less mistakes.

This should be required reading in America.

If only more Americans didn't view reading as a waste of time.
