He does make a very convincing argument and to be honest I would probably choose to stay in the Matrix or be put back in myself. Actually the majority of the Matrix backstory makes the humans out to be complete assholes and I'm finding it very difficult to sympathize with them and not root for the machines. Slave labor, persecution, attempted genocide, pre-emptive war, scorched earth etc. The character of "the chosen one" makes for a cool action movie, but honestly I'd rather have a machine/AI protagonist.

Also, god damn that steak always looked so delicious. Makes me hungry every time I see the scene. On that note, it's time to cook me some dinner because I happen to have some delicious steak in the fridge right now.

funny you say that actually, it was eventually revealed in the Matrix MMO that trinity and neo were actually the result of an experiment made by the matrix. "Trinity and Neo were actually the cumulation of decades of Machine research into translating human DNA perfectly into Machine code, allowing them to interface directly with technology without the need for simulated interfaces. My reaction to the steak has been an interesting metaphor for how moving out of my parents' house was like waking up from the matrix. It's a huge pain in the ass, but now I see true reality.

When the movie first came out, the steak looked terrible. It didn't even look like steak to me. This is because every steak I had ever had was overcooked.

Now I appreciate that steak. To me, it looks fantastic.

Watch 1 and 2 back-to-back. You'll definitely notice why it got so much hate. I recently did this myself and it's shocking how the quality of dialog, pacing, and cinematography plummeted between movies.

It's no "Highlander 2" level of betrayal, by any means. But it doesn't hold a candle to the first movie, sadly.

I saw Reloaded twice in the theaters. I hated it, so I thought I'd give it another chance, thinking maybe I missed something. I didn't. I haven't watched it again since and don't remember anything about it.

I like all three. In movie two, there is a huge reliance on the chase scene, but it definitely moves the story along to the next level nicely, while showing us contemporary humanity and some further clues into the machine world. What about the Merovingian? Here's a rogue program that has managed to survive several re-boots of the system. Whats his story? Movie three, again with the 'super brawl', that seemed too long and drawn out. But the movie provides a great intro into the next level of control. Not to mention, what about all those programs going AWOL into the Matrix? I like the evolution of the machine world that is represented in that.

Inception has nothing on the Matrix. Imagine if Dom from Inception woke up from 'reality' in lab, and discovered he had been used the entire time as a means for control. And Woke up from that 'reality' to discover that he was actually being used by inssurectionists to counter the system of control.

Reloaded had some pretty good action sequences you have to admit. Revolutions wasn't great. Maybe a couple decent action scenes.

But as far as story goes, both were poor.

I second this. God damn they dissapointed me. I mean, why? WHY WARCHOWSKIS? WHY? There are rumors that they are planning a few sequels, to kind of apoligize for the metric fuckton of fail that's called Reloaded and Revolutions but I won't hold my breath for them being made in the first place, and then for them to be any good.

I'm content with watching The Matrix and The Animatrix once per year.

Does anybody know the origin of "Karma" on reddit? Like what the exact reasoning behind it was? I feel like this is readily available somewhere, but looking at this I felt like I had to ask. I always liked that particular insult. It implies removal of the head before said deviant sexual behaviour. It could only be worse if something like, "I'll tear off your arm, use it to club your head from your body, and then fuck you in the neck.", could somehow be implied.
