  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

This is why reposts are a bad thing. With so many users, there will always be that one person who screams IF I HAVEN'T SEEN IT, IT'S NEW TO ME!

Like seriously, some of us don't like seeing the same shit over and over and over. If you want reposts, go make /r/reposts. That's surely a much better solution than someone making /r/originalcontent, seeing how that's what this subreddit, and reddit as a whole, once stood for.

Also, given that the person didn't take the original picture from said source and re-upload it to imgur in order to get a new URL, Reddit recognizes URL's of submits and tells you not only that it was uploaded but when it was as well. I have had to not post things before because the box popped up saying it was already submitted.

I did not do it. All I did was to install the karma decay plugin ( I am already running grease monkey because I run RES ). The plug in creates a small "dup" button, when you see a picture you suspect of being a duplicate, just click on the dup button and it will take the URL of the picture and copy the picture internally then compare it to REDDIT, Tineye, and other databases and generate the result. It does the formatting as you saw it. All I did was to cut and paste it in the comment and added the comment that this was the most duplicated image I had seen. Click on the karmadecay link on the original message, it explains the whole process.

You're right, that is probably the sickest picture of an owl I will ever see in my life. I'm merely questioning the continued annoying trend to prefix titles of cool pictures with the entirely unnecessary word "just". I've seen it so much, it has become both meaningless and infuriating. Have some confidence, man, go straight up and proclaim that this is "The sickest picture of and owl you will ever see in your life"! See what a magnificent title that is for an equally magnificent picture? Continue on with your life and use this new-found knowledge to your advantage, and who knows? One day you too could be an owl.

No, most Owls have a maximum velocity of 50mph. Typically, bullets travel over 10 times faster than this.
