Just as Jesus holds no weight over here, neither does the word 'fuck', therefore it can be used for catchy marketing, or to get foreigners to take pictures. Publicity I guess.

Way back when in like the mid 1980's the Asian Wall Street Journal used to have a "humor" section aimed at US expatriates that were in Asia. It was basically, Jay Leno's funny newspaper ads shtick.

So one story I remember is an American ex-pat in Taibei owned a used car and used boat business. He would take ads out in the local newspaper but invariably, the editors would put images of boats in his used car ads.

He got so sick of this, that he ended up going down to the ad department of the paper and hammered his fist on the desk and said: "I want NO FUCKING BOATS in my ad!!!"

Sure enough, the image that the journal printed had the name of the used car dealership with a huge photo of a boat with the banner "NO FUCKING BOATS!!" boldly plastered above the ad.

Perhaps this happened with the signs for the store. Perhaps it was a frustrated ex-pat of a shopkeep that had language issues with his graphic artist. "What is it for? It's a fuckin' SALE!!"

Lol, I live in Japan. I have a friend who took this photo directly and posted it to their FB. Shortly after it made it to reddit. Now I'm just trying to figure out who's the redditor haha.
