Indeed. Most of the time, I couldn't get past the first set of missions as a kid because when the concept of oxygen levels came in, I couldn't manage it well enough.

I'd often look through the mission select menu and just browse all the missions I never got to complete... and then there was that one really big one at the bottom. I always got chills from looking at that.

I don't think I ever made it past the 7th or 8th level. Had something to do with either running out of air on level or having a lava flow that slowly rose and I had to build something and escape. Either way, loved the hell out of this game. I reinstalled Lego Racer on my laptop successfully but this game never managed to install properly. Sad day.

There is a rock raiders forum that is all about getting it to run on modern machines. Lots of glitches and incompatibility.

They actually crash my machine when they kill the snail holes on my machine. There are a few fixes but not of them work on my computer. The game just isn't meant for todays systems. There is a huge RR community all about getting it to run correctly.

I once had a fever induced dream where I was managing a bunch of these lego guys. They were trying to drill through this one wall but I would wake up every 5 min and when I would go back to sleep they would be no closer to breaking through. This went on all night. It was the single worst night of sleep I've ever experienced... Great game though!

My fathers last game, due to it having no safe function, he sat up 8 hours, just to complete that next-final map. After that there were no more games for him. Final map was pretty easy though.
