This is in Pakistan, probably one of the bigger cities where there is actually a McDonalds. I had a similar stand outside my school when I lived there but it said "M C Donalds Franch Frice".

Edit: I know its Pakistan because of the area code for the phone number.

I believe it was the Travel Channel who had a documentary called "Fast Foods Gone Global" on the US exporting fast food culture overseas. McDonald's has a secret lab (yes, it's really a secret underground lab with finger print scanners to just get in the door) in Hong Kong which conducts consumer focus groups and determines what will be on the menu in its various locations in Israel, China, Japan, Thailand, India, etc.

For instance, having beef on the menu in India is a no-no, so the McDonald's in India has mostly chicken and vegetarian dishes that resemble some of the local Indian cuisines. In Japan, they have seafood style dishes. Israel has an all-kosher menu with some of the best cuts of beef. Now everyone knows that this is Business 101 - you adapt your business to local cultures and tastes, but it was just interesting seeing what the different fast food chains have on their menu in different countries.

The entire documentary was pretty interesting and depressing at the same time. The stuff people get to eat outside of the US is much, much better looking than the fast food we have here. It wasn't just McDonald's in the show either - KFC, Pizza Hut, and Subway also have chains overseas.

In Ramallah (West Bank) there's an "Olives Garden" and a "Pop Eyes" (if I remember the exact spelling correctly). They also have a Checkers, in which they serve up the most foul fast food known to man. We thought it would be funny to try it one day. Nooooooope.

Can you imagine what would happen if McD's scumbag lawyers tried to sue this guy? Or why they haven't already?
