Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

Not having a keyboard is bad enough, the fact that iPads are useless for anything but reading books and netflix and maybe a game or two kind of ruins them for me. I want my goddamn office suite, a useful browser and powerful multitasking abilities that don't drain the dumb thing in two hours.

There are office suites, including iWork from Apple. If you want a "real" keyboard, use a bluetooth one (the small one from Apple is the best, though.)

Go to a store and try some out. Your best results will be any tablet without Flash installed, but the iPad is best (disclaimer: I make my living on Android).

No and that's the problem with them. Intel said netbooks are taking one last shot this year with their new chip. THey promise tablet battery life but have a keyboard, larger storage and a full OS. Hopefully these new chips are powerful enough to play everything smoothly (unlike old netbooks)

the iWork suite works pretty awful. I'm really waiting for Windows 8 to freaking bomb so microsoft will get off their ass and make a suite for iOS.

Having Apple get off their ass and make iWork actually useful and 100% compatible with Windows would be cool too but I don't think that's going to happen.

Your comment got me wondering...the one thing I do see people use their iPads for is surfing the internet. I've always seen it touted as the perfect media consumption machine. I would think researching Carrie Fisher's drug habits falls under that domain. Is typing on the keyboard that bad? Do you only use yours for one-click activities?

Not trying to start a flamewar. I'm genuinely curious.
