I just skip over it. It puts me out of sync with the people around me, but I don't care.

i used to say it just cause i thought i had to when i was younger, i never meant any of it. but when i got older and learned it wasnt compulsory i just opted to not participate at all. never got any judgments or hate for it or anything and i was a very highly respected person in my school. i still wouldn't say it, even without under god in it. it's a play towards nationalism, which leads inevitably to fascism and i knew it. i am firmly against nationalism. i am still proud of my country and my founding fathers tho, as one of the only countries in the world to take a stand towards secularism. something i am extremely proud of.
