Oh god this reminds of the worst moment of my life. When I was in 7th grade I had a huge crush on this girl in my class. She was so cute and popular and of course I was terrified to ever talk to her.

Well for some reason my mother helped me indulge a stalkerish desire to see her house. We looked up her address in the phonebook. (this was before internet) and hopped in the late 70's model powder blue Dodge Dart (This was the 90's) complete with matte finish and about 15% rusted out and headed to the rich part of town.

Well later I found out that her dad owned some sort of advertising company which explained why lived in more or less a mansion in an uber rich neighborhood.

My stalkerish curiosities were beyond satisfied and this princess was now elevated to something of a godess. We drove by and I took a good look. We went down the street and turned around and came back for a second look. But then suddenly my mom turns into their driveway. I'm instantly filled with regret that we are doing this. I start yelling at her freaking out saying what are you doing? She starts laughing and says calm down calm down I'm just pulling in to turn around and we'll go. I scream at her. MOM LET'S GO!!! She stops the car and puts in in reverse.

That's when it happened.

I don't know much about cars but maybe the transmission died or maybe something with the engine but it wouldn't go. She kept giving it gas and it started making loud noises. The muffler wasn't too effective at doing what a muffler should do and the recent change in engine operability had only made this machine sound even more embarrassing.

I didn't know what to do except get out of the car and just RUN. But right as i got out this girl's parents heard the noise and were coming out. My mom screamed my name..."Come Back Justthrowme".

What do I do? I wanted to disappear but I looked back and saw that my mom was now hysterical and talking to my former fantasy girlfriends parents. She will only humiliate me. I was too far to walk home and this was before cellphones. What to do. I walked back and tried to explain I was running to get help. Right about now the girl I liked and her older just as hot sister emerged from their in ground swimming pool and came to see what was going on. Not a word came out of their mouths. Just a look of confusion/humiliation/disgust. I went and sat in the backseat of the Dodge. Apparently, my mom and her parents called a tow truck and some 45 minutes later mom and I got a ride home.
