Being exposed to a differing viewpoint, one that is actually logical and evidence-based, has got to be infuriating... especially when you thought people who express such viewpoints live in other countries, not your homeland, and quite probably your own community.

Seconded as hell. Maybe this is because I'm not American, but I've never seen people so worked up about being atheists. I mean, who cares? Where live it's taken as standard that you are non-religious, and anyone making fun of someone because of their religion is definitely looked down on. /atheism seems ridiculously immature, I would love to know the age demographic

America is 80% Christian... in my high school of 2,500 there were 4 Atheists that I knew of and the rest were probably pressured into remaining anonymous. There was a One Club or some stupid thing like that with 700 student members. They'd come to school 30 minutes early every single day and pray in front of the flag.

Also, considering the fact that more people are religious than Atheist it doesn't surprise me that most people feel vexed after coming here. That having been said, who's up for a bisexual pig orgy?
