Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

I take it you never read "Uncle Scrooge" comics. Somewhere I have the comic that this image came from, though I can't remember if it is a Donald comic or Scrooge.

I got that with some Uncle Scrooge comic book by Don Rosa

Yes, in the Dutch version Scrooge McDuck is called "Oom (Uncle) Dagobert".

in Denmark he is called "Uncle Joachim".

Considering he consistently refers to him as "Uncle Scrooge"? Yes.

I don't see Darkwing there.

I don't see Daisy either.

I would hope Daisy and Donald aren't related. I don't think Disney would approve incest.

No, but she's part of the family tree.

Wait, what? If they aren't related, why would she be part of the family tree? They aren't married, and I feel really weird arguing the specifics of a cartoon duck's ancestry.

[–]Loopyprawn -1 points0 points ago

I guess i assumed they were married. My bad.

This tree was incredibly hard to follow at first.

Just for reference: This is a chart drawn by Don Rosa, one of the best comics artists that ever did Duck-Comics.

The heart with "D.U.C.K." carved into the tree in the middle is a dedication Don Rosa puts in almost every comic he draws (mostly, it's much better hidden) and means "Dedicated to Uncle Carl by Keno". Uncle Carl meaning the legendary Carls Barks and Keno is the first name of Don Rosa.

This chart is not official (whatever that means), it's just something Don Rosa drew for his series "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" which is absolutely awesome. It tries to make sense of all the slight references Carl Barks made about Scrooges past and does a wonderful and entertaining job.

Since there is no consistent view on the Duck-Universe, it's almost impossible to say what's official. Artists all over the world produce Duck-Comics (of course in license with Disney) and invent characters on the fly.

Huey, Dewey and Louie are triplets, so they all have the same father.

They showed up at their uncle's doorstep in 1937, meant to stay there until their father came back from the hospital after a fireworks-related hishap. And they've stayed there ever since.

Sir Quackly McDuck and Malcolm McDuck had a child together? How progressive!

[–]onemoreclick 1 point2 points ago

Nuh, Molly Mallard is with Dingus McDuck. All the McDucks seem to have unknown relationships

[–]rytis 1 point2 points ago

and Donald had two fathers as well? Hortense and Quackmore? Does Disney know this?

[–]woodandiron 6 points7 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Hortense is a feminine name.

[–]rytis 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

at first I was doubtful, so I googled hortense, and then I found this I stand corrected good sir.

All in a good day's work.

And by work, I mean sexing anthropomorphic ducks based on first names.

[–]notAnnie 0 points1 point ago

I don't see branches connecting them to Molly. It appears that the "trunk" are known ancestors of unknown origins.

Anybody else notice "Quagmire Duck" and "Dirty Dingus Duck"?

[–]tracicle -4 points-3 points ago

A little incestuous: all the married couple Ducks have the same last name.

[–]onemoreclick 3 points4 points ago

You're joking?
