People click on imgur more because imgur was designed to handle reddit traffic. About two years ago it was almost impossible to use the original link to see images that had made it to the front page, and a top comment was usually always a mirror. We were kind of trained to submit things to imgur to avoid burning through people's bandwidth in an hour. Of course, some sites could handle the traffic then and still can now, but the damage has been done.

Normally I agree. I'm against those stupid bumper stickers of Calvin taking a piss, or Calvin praying at a grave, and all that other crap.

This, however, is not the same thing. This is fan art. I knew I would come to this thread and find someone bemoaning this as someone tarnishing the legacy of C & H.

In this particular case I have no problem with it because this person is clearly a fan of C & H, and has used his own creativity to pay homage to these two great characters while re-imagining them in a new light. It's just a single, stand alone piece of artwork, not a TV show coming to Fox this fall.

Watterson himself frequently wrote Calvin into alternative scenarios and utilized different drawing techniques like when he was Spaceman Spiff and when Calvin was Tracer Bullet, the noir private detective (this is particularly relevant in this case).

TL;DR: I don't think this is one of those typical cases where someone is ruining the good name of Calvin and Hobbes. Your comment seems to take the lazy and safe route of rehashing a common Reddit complaint, rather than actually thinking about it for yourself.
