The series compensation fantasy has been developed in 2004, by the use of procedures that mixed plastic production (real) and digital manipulation (virtual), not causing suffering or death to the animal, which body was provide by the Centre for Environmental Monitoring of the City Hall of Recife – Brazil, accompanied by formal authorization (written document) which guarantees the use of the dog’s body for artistic purposes – as are also given authorizations for scientific purposes.

The animal – which had been in quarantine while waiting for owners or possible adopters – suffered euthanasia as a standard procedure and end of the legal process considered necessary by the health authorities in control of transmittable disease in urban populations. So, the dog was not euthanized by the artist, but by the responsible authorities. The artist had also no influence on the procedures adopted by the Centre for Environmental Monitoring of the city hall of Recife. Instead of following for cremation (like all other animals gathered in the streets and subjected to euthanasia), the dog was used by the artist according to hygienic, legal and ethical care.
