The end of a true story that nobody ever believes...

After a long night of partying on 6th St. in Austin, a buddy and I were sitting on a bus bench on Congress St. watching the sun rise on a Sunday morning while we came down off of various things. A truck came around a corner by the capitol building with a couple of guys in the back laying out orange traffic cones every ten feet or so in the middle of the street. As soon as that truck turned onto another street, we heard a thumping noise coming from the bottom of the hill. A second truck came around the corner and drove over every cone that had just been set out. We watched with great amusement as he thump-thump-thumped his way up the hill. Just as he turned the corner at the top of the hill, a girl on a bicycle came gliding around the other corner at the top of the hill. Arms outstretched like she was flying and head thrown back without a care in the world, she flew down the hill, picking up more and more speed on her bicycle. It was such a beautiful moment until she hit one of the traffic cones and face planted right in the middle of Congress St.
