      I believe this game is known as the Wisest Wizard, where contestants go out drinking and tape their beer cans together to make a wizard staff.

      Whoever has the longest staff at the end of the night wins. There are epic boss battles involved too.

      I play Wizard Staffs every year for my birthday.

      Additional house rules:

      Each can increases your level. To officially move from a level 3 to level 4 wizard, and from level 8 to level 9 you need to accomplish a quest designated my me.

      Once you reach level 9, you are granted a special title (often pertaining to the kind of beer that comprises your staff, for example "Wizard of the Blue Ribbon" for PBR, "Mage of the Frozen North" for any ice beer, or "The Artificer" for Steel Reserve, etc.), you can refer to yourself in the 3rd person, and you get to call anyone below level 9 "peasant".

      We often have encounters with monsters periodically throughout the party. For example, "Lord Cuervo has infiltrated the castle with his evil minons and their weapons of salt and lime. You MUST DEFEAT THEM."

            As someone else posted, this is indeed a burning man camp. I met some of them at Transformus regional burn in NC. I saw a wizard, and yelled to him "Hey wizard! Do some magic!" He replied, "oh you want to see some magic, huh?" He gave me the finger and shot a tiny fireball out of it, said "Fuck you I'm a wizard," and walked off. It was awesome.

            Yep. This was a theme camp at this year's Transformus in NC.

            My favorite part of the camp (which I didn't really spend much time at) was the wooden stand that said "Staff Parking." It had a couple of wizard's staffs plus a fire staff (for spinning). Made me really happy :)
