Well, Sonic Adventure is on XBLA for 800msp, not sure about the PSN though, but that has chao breeding.

The first time I find chao garden on Sonic Adventures 2, I was instantly hooked. Made devil chaos, angel chaos, did the races and everything. I spent more time with these chaos than I did in the actual game xD!

If you take good care of them (rather, as long as you don't abuse them), they're reincarnated upon death. If you follow a convoluted method of controlling what items you give the Chao, after three reincarnations it comes back as a Chaos Chao, which is immortal. I only took the time to to it once, but it was tempting to try it again.

This is the one part of the game I could never get into. I understand it in principle, but it just wasn't that fun for me.

I could see it as a standalone game or maybe downloadable title, but having it as a requirement for 100% completion, even after I've aced all of the real levels (yes that includes Security Hall)? Nah.

But one of the main aspects of the Chao was that you had to replay the levels in order to get them the drives and animals, having it as a standalone thing itself wouldn't work out to great :/

I'll agree that it probably shouldn't count towards completion progress but it wouldn't hurt to bring it back.
