Rats are so difficult to kill. I had a rat in my home last winter, and hard as I tried, I just couldn't kill off the darned pest. I tried poisoned grains, it didn't work, I tried traps, I'd always come back to see that the trap had been triggered and a bit of a mess left where it was, but no rat. It actually went off once whilst I was watching TV, made such a noise and a ruckus and I could almost swear I heard the darned pest scream and then scurry, but still, wasn't caught.

I was then once sat quietly on the toilette one early morning, the toilette was by the door and the door open, when he just appeared and trotted in through the the door into the bathroom, and then paused surprised barely a foot or two from me, freaked the heck out of me, I didn't know what to do and it looked like neither did he. Talk about an awkward moment. My legs jumped buttnaked in every direction, not sure whether to run away or stomp on him, and he similarly freaked out, trying to run past me but instead skipping and sliding on the slippery floor.
