  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), weight loss photos, posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. Weight loss photos go in /r/loseit, DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

I thought it was awesome. One of Bill's best rolls, honestly. He nailed it as well as anyone could, IMO.

As much as I liked Depp in Fear & Loathing, the fact that he is now the go-to aficionado in All-That-Is-Thompson just gets irksome. Bill Fucking Murray seems better and better the deeper and deeper Depp gobbles Mickey Mouse's cock.

To be fair, until the Rum Diary comes out, Fear and Loathing in LV is the only Thompson movie he's done. Also, Thompson specifically adored Depp, and considered him a very close friend.

I'm partial to the Man Himself's opinion on the matter. If I were the subject of some major movies, and I said that x actor was the best suited to portray me, as well as having been a good friend of mine over more than a decade before my death... well, I'd be a bit pissed if someone else took the mantle.

That being said, like I said before, I thought Where the Buffalo Roam was an excellent movie. I think Bill Murray did a wonderful job, and IMO it's arguably his best work as an actual actor. I don't understand, to this day, why Hunter despised it so much. But, that's Hunter.

Either way, we can have more to talk about when the Rum Diary hits next month.

I think he despised it because it made a mockery of him. Before they got Terry Gillingham (I know that's not spelled correctly) to direct Fear & Loathing they had some other director. Apparently Hunter hated this director because he wanted to do a cartoon during the scene where Depp reads the "high water mark" portion of the book. This was the opposite of what Hunter wanted because it trivialized one of his best pieces of writing. Whereas Bill Murray's portrayal of Hunter was dead one for anyone who has seen actual interviews with Hunter, the movie itself was almost comedic. Depp's fear and loathing was funny at times, but as a whole its a twisted and at times depressing film - which is what I think Hunter viewed F&L as being.
