Fictional backstory. Crazy cat lady/pet hoarder is told by the health department that her home is being condemned. She has three days to find homes for all of her cats, and to vacate the premises before sanitation workers and animal control come in and sweep and clear the property. She goes to a santeria practicioner buys an enchanted sickle. She is told that she can harvest the souls of anything she kills with it, and she will be able to be with them forever. So, she goes home, sits in her parlor in this very chair, calls each one of her precious cats up into her lap one by one, and bleeds them dry until each of their nine souls is drained out of their body and into the fabric of the chair. You can't tell from the picture, but every time you glance away from the chair and back at it again, the position of the cats faces change slightly.
