Slow yes, but none of the two-toed sloths species are endangered, actually. They are way more common as pets and in zoo facilities than three-toed, which have some endangered species and a much more specialized diet.

This is a 2-Toed Sloth... They're a lot different than the super slow-fungus growing on back 3-Toed sloth. Head down to Costa Rica, go to a little town on the east coast called Puerto Viejo. They have a sloth sanctuary and will let you play with them, volunteer and care for them, and present them to other people. They also let you play with baby howler monkeys. Sloths are one of my favorites. :)
