You've never one-hit KOed a low level Pokemon with a wrong-type attack? When you visit a low level area where it works, it's silly to bother swapping out your Blastoise with high PP water moves just to KO a measly little lvl5 Bellsprout.

I think the stranger pokemon logic is how nobody really questions shit when, within the pokemon world, hundreds of new creatures just pop up out of nowhere and nobody acts the least bit surprised. It would kind of be like this:

Dude:"Hey, did you hear that they found this new animal?"

Me:"Oh yeah?"

Dude:"Yeah, they are called squirrels."

Me:"Squirrels, huh?"

Dude:"Yeah, guess there's, like, millions of 'em and they've been in the trees for thousands of years...never noticed 'em before."

Me:"Yeah, me neither. Crazy. I hope I can catch one, and it can grow rocket launchers if it fights Dave's cat enough times."

Dude:"Yeah, its pretty vunerable to fire from what I hear."

Me:"Thanks for the tip."

I'm pretty sure if I had immortal pets with super powers, I would train them and have them fight.

The real weird thing is when wild pokemon or team rocket are attacking you, why can't you just throw ALL the pokemon to fight back?

Whenever someone challenges me to a battle, I like to add "let's make our animals fight" to the end of whatever they say. It always makes it a bunch more interesting. (e.g. I love my pokemon. They are so cute. Let's make them fight.)

my first experience of pokemon was blue, traded a vcr for it :P Bought that magikarp off the stupid rip off guy, put it in day care, a lot of battles later and one painful level up on my own... BADASS Gyardos. LIKE A BOSS. when silver and gold came out, bought that for a fun holiday. Didnt care for its starter pokemon so i caught a hoot hoot, deposited the chikorita and had an awesome and to this day, undefeatable Noctowl. at this point i realise im rambling on but yeah, im a 21 year old who loves pokemon.
