I have tried to speculate where it might have landed, and I must admit however, such conjecture is futile. Still, questions about whose hands might one day hold my Myst book are unsettling to me. I know my apprehensions might never be allayed... and so I close, realizing that perhaps the ending has not yet been written.

According to most of what I've read, they don't really put much effort into promoting tourism here. (Little accommodations, little/no "tourist shops", few hiking trails, etc)

And given the isolation, volcanic ground, and rough water, I can't help but wonder how they population keeps alive.

I'd assume livestock and most agriculture is extremely limited or nonexistent (due to the weather, soil, and limited resources for advanced methods).

And since the couple of articles I read mention no real shops, stores, bars, etc, even doing business amongst the locals seems non-existent.

So what do they do? Wikipedia made no mention. Is the main source the salt or other natural resources being imported/exported? Is it fishing? (but most places state that most of the shore line is sheer cliffs, so that'd require ships/boats)

It seems "town" is very poor/run-down (at least cosmetically). I wonder what the quality of life is like. Are the locals happy? Are they content in their conditions because the feeling of freedom, pure nature, and isolation make it worthwhile?

Sheesh, I don't have enough time to google it all myself right now. And I wonder if Google has all the answers on this
