Well an electron is around 1/2000 of the mass of a proton, so no.

Are you positive?

came here to say this, except I was going to say 1/1836 the mass of a proton.

Well of course. They control the means of conduction.

The electrons are simply charging us too much for the services we need!

What they're doing is a crime. They're downright kleptonmaniacs.

Electrons are like .0000001% of the mass...

Point proven!

the nucleus is 1% of the volume, but takes 99.999% of the mass. OCCUPY NUCLEUS!!!

Closer to 0.1%

[–]SillyTralfamadorian 0 points1 point ago

its actually roughly 1/1800th or .055% of the mass

All I ask is this... Why?

if you are referring to my posting this 7,000,000 times, it was an accident... i actually thought it hadn't posted at all because it told me there was an error.... reddit lies :o

Haha, ok that makes sense. The exact same has happened to me before, but I never tried that many times!

Jimmy V once told me to not give up... I don't think he was talking about posting the relative mass of an electron on the internet though...

Yeah, but like 99% of the volume!

[–]Kratoyd -1 points0 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

It's more towards .0000000001%, but yeah.

it's funny, but incorrect, unfortunately.

[–]Waabanang 2 points3 points ago

They take up most of the volume, so there's that...

Electrons aren't the problem. It's the protons that are meant to keep them in check.

all of the mass in less than 1% of the volume!

We, the protons and neutrons, demand equal distribution of control of the atom's charge!

...so that the world will abruptly end in a massive sort of electron deficiency...eh, nevermind!

Occupy the valence shells and hybrid orbitals! Their control over the atom while the ~99.99999% massed nucleus only contribute to momentum and no further dictation on bonding is an atrocity to ion-and-non-ion-kind!

I've grown shamed to look my poor little quarks one magnetic moment too long! Tonight the positrons shall reign a darkened, non-existent hell over the electron ~0.000001%!

Electrons do not exist. The fact is no one has EVER seen an atom and the orbiting electron bead in physics wouldn't make much sense in chemistry (so they use a different model of the atom).
