In order to not be dicks and go explore space, we'd need to get rid of r/spacedicks.

only good can come from that

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Here are some linkeroonies that dicks will just looooove. (Go sick 'em......dicks):

This is just to set the stage - many of you have seen it plenty I think

This is the first real dick prep - feel yourself erect on the launching pad yet......dick?

countdown...stroke the button lightly......dick

ooohhh sheeeit scrub!..."Houston!...we got some old dude too close...we are...disappoint."

aaahhhhooooOOOHH! FUCK THIS SHIT! Get Benjamin Fulford and Forbes Magazine on the line! MY DICK HURTS!

just some popcorn...dick

yeah - I figure I'm going to loose plenty karma capitol..not that I have much to begin with - particularly for the balls to be a hijacker (abductor?). But I have actually learned to respect what it feels like to be a submarine in negative karma. My own mum came to the United States via a submarine called "USS Nautilus" - a NARWHAL CLASS sub of WW2

wait - that link is acting weird let's try that again:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Nautilus_%28SS-168%29

Anyway - she was put on it with her brother by her father - who survived the Bataan death march was a prisoner of war until he escaped (my mind=blown) and led gorilla campaigns to defend the Philippines. So I can take your neurotic karma bullshit.

So if you gotta drop your dick bombs fine - but I think it would be cool if you could get your dick to articulate with a note. Here are some dick starters:

"I didn't watch any of these cause - their too long and my dick just can't last that long."

"I watched but that guy said something and my dick slapped me in the face. My dick is my master and when it slaps me I gotta apologize to it. I don't ever fight my own dick - not never ever."

"Benjamin Fulford? Previously of Forbes Magazine? Well let me tell you exactly why that guy is a dick."

"My dick hates the dark of space - where no one can hear it scream."

"My dick is the only TRUE dick."

  • just some ideas

Do I think there are dicks in space? Sometimes I am persuaded that it is plausible - but idunno...yet.

I know we got plenty dicks here though - right dicks?

enjoy

btw - vaginas are indeed puuuuuurfectly welcome ;)

edit - strange problem with the sub link

edit 2 - Guerrilla/Gorilla - both spellings seem usable I guess

[–]WalrusKaput 4 points5 points ago

How high are you?

[–]cmpashdng 0 points1 point ago*

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

How low are you?

edit:

Sorry - that was pretty cheap. When people need to use ridicule to defend some part of their grip on reality your "question" appears as a popular one...cheap...and actually quite empty. I suppose my response is in some ways a good one - you assume I am high and so you perhaps are low? How low? If you see me as very high (what specific aspect is so "high" to you?) what is it about yourself that you perceive to be lower?

Or maybe you are just wondering if I am as high as you are? ...I couldn't say Holmes...you paint a very simple and covert picture of yourself.

Anyway - in disclosure I have not smoked the pot for a while...unfortunately? Nor any other mind/mood altering substance. World events of late have been so inspiring (and concerning) that getting high has less of an appeal.

I just now watched a pretty wild and contentious yet stimulating vid with people in the above videos - haven't seen it before:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzqDVOjtNhg&feature=related

I don't mind some contention and stress in the dialog - though at times I wanted to take one or the other's side. I suppose I feel Greer had some worthwhile points that seem perhaps important - but I like that they all got through it without a frustrated disengagement - that is respectable regarding the confusing subject matter.

"The Pot" - I just saw a vid recently that regarding the notion of Global Revolution that I think is...pretty freaking..ehh..."high".

I think the point, here, is to imagine what we could accomplish if we all worked together. Maybe without the Cold War we'd have never reached the moon, but maybe without World War One we'd have reached the moon decades before we did? If we pooled our resources (of minds and matter) maybe we would have made the moon into a space fuel station and have made manned missions to Mars by now.

[–]Pooraim 4 points5 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Yup. Theoretically, 7 billion (even at 3 billion) working together for ~5 minutes would be an insane amount of man hours.

[–]SniperTooL 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I may have the math completely wrong but 6659.056 decades of man-hours is what I came up with for 5mins of work with 7 billion people.

Competition drive innovation. I dont think that would work for long.

[–]_pulsar 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

But competition isn't the only thing that drives innovation.

The desire to ensure the survival of our species will someday be a huge motivating factor. It's just that the threat of extinction doesn't feel real to us at the moment so we just ignore it and drool over the newest smartphone coming out.

[–]HighDagger 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

How long are you willing to wait? Tribal, indigenous peoples have survived just fine without a need for such concepts as progress and innovation as specialized fields. Surviving alone is meaningless as a motivating factor unless a threat to survival is very concrete, imminent…
Most humans lack the vision to dedicate significant amounts of time to such things as long as it only concerns others.

[–]CellPhoneFlush 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Competition drives the desire to win, not necessarily to innovate. Creative people drive innovation regardless.

[–]grumpyoldgit 1 point2 points ago

The trouble is everything mankind does these days has to make money. We can't explore space just for the sake of it, someone somewhere has to make money from it or it doesn't happen.

[–]ifshoefitswearit 2 points3 points ago*

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

we wouldn't have gone to the moon without the cold war/hate, we'd have cured world hunger instead, or tried to at-least. Of course we'd never have invented the internet or nuclear power either, plus a lot of other stuff we take for granted, but this is r/funny so I don't know whatever. fear is human's greatest motivator, sad but true.

Like a huge amount of young people that were inspired to go into science/engineering. As an engineer now, I can tell you that we need the big things to keep people excited (and willing to spend money) on science.

[–]spaceshipsix 5 points6 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

There's also the theory that the space missions captivated a generation of young bright minds, producing a wave of creative talent that went on to develope the plethora of amazing technology we have around us today. But then again it's just space. We don't need to go there anyway.

Bullshit you need to take a look back at how far serious minds have been studying the universe before making such remarkably short sighted conjectures.

Sir Isaac Newton PRS (25 December 1642 – 20 March 1727 [NS: 4 January 1643 – 31 March 1727])[1] was an English physicist, mathematician, astronomer, natural philosopher, alchemist, and theologian, has been "considered by many to be the greatest and most influential scientist who ever lived.

You are so small an perfectly conditioned to have the attention span of 30 seconds to not know there has always been another way but people are weak, not everyone can be one of gods/the universes prototypes so I stand alone with hope for a future of cooperation, competition has always cheapened the players.

There is a commonality that all matter in the universe shares. And that is in how it forms. We just need to continue observing deeper into the building blocks of our life here, and farther out into the reaches of space to discover how it all comes together.

It is these similarities that make everything possible.

Harnessing the power of "what is same" between the almost infinitely complex structures that exist beyond earth, and the almost imperceptibly atomic microbes on earth, yields greater results when attempting to move human energy across vast distances.

Nigga what the fuck are you smoking? "Being dicks" in the picture implies ethical barricade, productionist ideology, and capitalism. Nazi rocket scientists were some of the brightest and most innovative minds of their time and in their field. They constructed a rocket, not to be confused with a missile which is guided, that could fly by itself without input several hundred miles and land within a targeted area. Their understanding of solid- and liquid-state fuel, as well as a host of other innovations were the backbone of the American's space race. In fact, many Nazi scientists were granted amnesty and moved to the United States to work for the government. Now that's getting along... right after we finished murdering several dozen million people.

This. THIS! Infinite THIS!

In other words I am someone who believes if we could stop pissing around with ourselves we could be way ahead of our current progress as a species.

All of my up votes to the creator of this image and those who believe and support it.

A lot of scientific and technological discoveries were done in the name of defense and war. Example: Gamma ray bursts were discovered by satellites built to detect nuclear weapons in space. I'd argue that without the Cold War we'd still be trying to go to the Moon.

So if we didn't have wars we'd all twiddle our thumbs for eternity? You aren't gonna stop creative people from being creative.

Nazis and they wanted to kill people those are your heros? When the Borg/some hostile alien race get here I am sure they will wait for us to catch up with our tech to give a fair fight. We are playing checkers when we need to be playing chess.
