This is actually a really, REALLY old meme from 4chan. At least I found it on 4chan in like.. 2007. Wasn't much of a meme in today's terms, just a series of funny pictures that got reposted all the time

Sadly, the more I see 4chans memes posted here, the more I see the complete opposite. Memes here tend to degrade and completely lose its meaning, or gain another, simpler meaning. No offense meant to reddit, it's just that it has a far wider and internet-simplier audience and it has to cater to much broader tastes, so complicated memes would never survive.

I'm using the term "internet-simple" to convey that users here aren't as exposed to the fiery depths of the internet as users on 4chan.

Everyone at 4chan and everyone outside it talks about 4chan being a hell-hole for extremely humorous and creative pedophiles and rapists who masturbate to gore and scat.

As someone who has browsed 4chan on and off for about 7 years, I feel qualified to tell the truth. That's what they want you to think. Really, it's like Reddit without so much fucking circlejerking.

Let's not forget reddit is a "social news" website (content submitted and voted on) and 4chan is more of a forum, so they are inherently different websites. They are fairly similar in terms of the community, aside from what you said and that reddit is more of a mainstream website. The trolls here suck though, and a lot more people here are oblivious to the fact that their being trolled.

4chan used to be like Reddit with less curclejerking, now there's an equal or maybe even greater amount of circlejerking and bullshit.

There's still some good boards, but they're slow.

Eh, I only visit the archives now anyway. It's like a filter for all good things. Seriously, it's kinda like reddit, where people vote which good threads get to be seen. The only downside is that you don't participate in them. 4chan can be pretty damn funny and useful, but it has so many downsides that it hurts. The users aren't so stupid on other boards, and you get to like trolls (and trolling in itself). Of course, everyone suspects everyone of trolling and hilarity ensues. But seriously, boards like the back-in-action /r9k/ and some creative art boards or (auto/weapons/sports if you're into those things) are pretty cool. The rest of them are mostly shit.

Here on reddit I have a feeling like everything is bite-sized and doesn't have a lot of consistency. Still amazing stuff though.
