You know a cat is up to something when it starts winking. It's always a three step process. First the winking, then the thing he's not supposed to do and then the washing.

Just this morning my cat Kees, was staring to some flowers on a vase. I looked him straight into the eyes and he winked at me. He knew he was going to be in trouble and he didn't care. I couldn't punish him for just winking, so what was I supposed to do? The old grab and cuddle option is effective most of the time. But I had a whole day at work in front of me. I could delay the inevitable for a few minutes. But then I would be at work, the vase with flowers would be unprotected and soon be on the floor with it's water pouring out nd the flowers at the mercy of Kees.

No. The only option was to let it happen, and start getting a bucket and some blankets. He had me and he knew it. The victory wash was especially sweet for him.

thinking back I don't know why I didn't just moved the vase to a secure place after a grab and cuddle. It's monday. that's my only excuse.
