Well, I have lived with three four non-denomination Christians in my life, my sister, mother, and my mothers ex and new husband. Both my step fathers hated me, one always called me a bitch the other called me a devils spawn (how typical). My mother's ex did not allow me to watch anime, play pokemon, or video games because they were all demonic. My mothers new husband says I am not a greatful loving daughter if I do not fetch him water, make him food, or help my mom with chores when I come over... I do not even live with them. He won't let me shower with my own husband in his shower because we could be doing "shameful things" in the shower. My mom allows these things, because she thinks it is the best for me, and even told me once that my non-belief brought her shame. This woman did not come to my graduation nor did she come to my wedding. =/

The atheists I live with are awesome, we go out to dinner, watch TV together, and play video games. Friday nights we all hang out, drink, and a multi player game like play mario party or Donkey Kong. They do not demand that I make them food or do their chores. They accept me for who I am, and encourage me to watch anime, play video games, or play Pokemon. I finally have people accept me for who I am, and they are atheists.

I am sorry you have only met shitty ones, it usually isn't their lack of belief, but because they are shitty people. I promise you, there are good ones out there.
