I've had my goatee since freshman year of high school. I literally would not recognize my chin if I shaved it off. You can still look like a babyface even with a full beard. We had an intern here I used to call Babybeard because he looked like the thing was painted on. He was always with Jingly, who was this intern that always had his keys and about $3 in quarters in his pocket or something. You could always tell when Jingly and Babybeard were going to lunch or going home without looking up.

I started teaching when I was 22 and had to grow a beard to look like an adult. During the school year my middle schoolers guessed that I was anywhere between 30 and 45 (one moron said 50). Each year, during the last week of school, I shave and every kid who walks into my classroom says "Mr. _____ you look like you're 14!" and spends a week laughing at my expense. I hate having a beard personally... I don't have much time to shave as I work 2 jobs. one crack of dawn, the other I get home and should have been in bed long ago....

On the up side, winter is coming up, and one of the jobs is outdoors so the beard is coming in quite handy right now....keep it until spring. :)
