Sorry in advance but I'm just going to be honest... My ex came out of nursing school on the Dean's List and praising her on her papers felt like congratulating someone for colouring inside the lines. Regurgitating medical jargon does not make you intelligent. Nursing is a demanding profession.. but I've seen some of the dumbest people I know come out of that program.

Thanks for the nostalgia. I graduated nursing school in May, and I remember those days with much the same regard as I do my time in the Iraq War. (It's kind of like a cold knot in my stomach mixed with a sense of pride at having survived without having to kill anybody.)

Luckily my girlfriend is an LPN so she was able to recognize a lot of the words, but she still wasn't very helpful. Almost all of that nursing theory evaporates when you get your first nursing job and have to figure out what out of all that stuff was actually important.

I guess I never thought that medical language was so hard to understand, I'm a Psychology/addiction major so it's a bit different than a nurse but I think I have more trouble understanding my boyfriend going for criminal justice than he does understanding Psychological terms.
