Beware of trading scammers!

A subreddit for anything related to games (but not sports).

"Related" means that posts must contain gaming-related content in the link/post body, not just a "forced" connection via the title or a caption added to the content.

  • Posts must be directly gaming-related. Thus, "generic" image macros/memes (where the character itself is not related to gaming) like Scumbag Steve, Good Guy Greg, etc. will be removed. Something that "reminds you of a game", or "looks like something from a game" is also not an appropriate submission; similarly, reaction GIFs are also not appropriate as submissions.

  • Following Reddiquette is encouraged

  • No "general" URL shorteners (bitly, tinyurl, etc). Single-site URL shorteners (such as youtu.be or fav.me) are allowed.

  • No game or product giveaway of any kind

  • NSFW submissions and comments must be labeled

  • Spoilers can be posted using the following formatting:

I tried doing that and couldn't. I mean I just coulnd't. After getting completely freaked out I had to quit. Then for the next week or so, I'd occasionally open up my steam library and just stare at the game icon... but I never went through with it. It still sits there... calling to me, mocking me, inviting me, and haunting me.

Remember to use a headphones instead of speakers if you got them. Half the game is delivered from the sounds alone.

I think 3/4 of it is the sound. When I first entered the wine cellar, after grabbing the forth chemical I was so terrified of running into something in game that I sprinted out of the room, and up the stairs not looking anywhere but the ceiling.

Even now I can only play it in short bursts because my rule is: Only play after 10:00 pm with lights off and volume high.

It's pretty scary, I played it at midnight with electrostatic earphones on (as in pretty much the best, most realistic sound possible) with the only light coming from the screen, at highest graphics. It helps if you're already paranoid as fuck and is expecting immediate death and failure if the monster as much as senses your presence.

I had nightmares -_-'

You will find that you will be scared shitless of otherwise benign sounding noises.

Here is some standard amnesia logic:

Lantern runs out of fuel: monsters about to kill you.

Haven't seen a monster in a long time? Monsters are about to kill you.

You go from a well lit environment to an almost pitch black one: definitely fucking monsters in there.

Just picked up an important item: there must be a monster behind me.

Eventually you turn into the Ancient Aliens guy except with monsters instead of aliens.

For those who don't know: OnLive has a free three day rental for Amesia (and 4 other games) that has to be redeemed by midnight tonight. It'll save your progress should you want to buy it at a later date. This is also a good idea if you want to demo it if you want to buy it on Steam.

If you want to buy it on steam, a better idea would be to get the demo on steam, since half the point of a demo is to see how it runs on your machine. (though Amnesia's requirements are pretty low anyway though.)

It's $4 on Steam right now. For anyone that doesn't have, $4 is a steal for this game.

Dude water was really easy, you run and you open doors it's all lit up. After that you get to "see" the face of darkness, we where three dudes relaying, and we could not pass this part.

Found the games weakness. I have been playing it the last few days and have been terrified. Came back tonight (Halloween) after the bar drunk as a skunk, senses dulled = lol monsters. (Also makes water box jumping extremely hard)

My only regret is that I am cheating myself out of the experience :(
